Freaky but it reads like gibberish. Still, this comic was a net positive on my day. Is it a quote from wikipedia? Or is it supposed to be the ramblings of someone not so sane?
this is beautiful and complex, but it needs to be explained.
Holy shit this looks awesome
I love it!
Incredible art, really cool poem, too! (Typo in the word “releases”, don’t mean to be an ass.) I think this is awesome 🙂

My interpretation is something like:
People build cocoons (coping or defense mechanisms) in order to survive. When we transcend from these cocoons we will be much more beautiful, strong, perhaps even scary to some who have not transformed themselves. However, society tends to call these cocoons or transformations deficiencies and tries to keep people in their cocoons, perhaps because it’s the only thing that fits a narrative they already believe.
I enjoyed this!
Some serious Library of Babel vibes right there, gotta be honest
Explaining for those out of the loop: the LoB is an infinitely expansive collection of random sequences of letters. It was theorised in a short story of the same name. According to the story, it stretched onwards into infinity. It’s length and the contents of its pages had driven many people to suicide within the library. A very unreal story and concept, with a lot of the same vibes as this piece. The seeming randomness of the words on the page strung together into semi-coherency really makes that comparison for me.
This looks like a guide you’d find in some Grimoire in a fantasy world that teaches you how to make creatures.
This is quite the expressive piece. The way you’ve formed this. It’s disjointed, yet conveys a very tangible effect. Themes of growth, rebirth, stunted and stolen potential caused from a sense of disgust at necessary components of growth considered undesirable. Along with the visual change from a clean diagram to a distorted creature with a poignant mutation of the typography as the message is revealed.”
“Sir this is a wendy’s” the acne burdened teenager morosely sighs. “Please, my shift was supposed to end 10 minutes ago.” He pleads.
“Moreover this reveals deeper, generational trauma lending to mutative effects on the creatures depicted. This is a metaphor, representing how an incomplete understanding on our ugly truths, fear and ugly responses can cause detrimental ripples as these impulsive choices cascade across and through as things change. Monsters make more monsters. What was once a horrible mutation is now the beautiful status quo”
Bones long crumbled to dust, only a mildly iron rich soil, a lingering remnant of long decayed metals used in the construction of the long gone restaurant, now takes the place of the young man.
It’s cool but like it makes no sense whatsoever. Don’t even try to explain it. The comic was supposed to do that
huh?
