Let's hear it one last time for Shawn Mendes's luscious hair strands. The musician has officially said "See ya!" to his long hair in favor of a buzzcut and we'd be lying if we weren't a liiiiittle bit sad about the new look.
As noted by People, Shawn was spotted grabbing coffee in Los Angeles on January 7 wearing a pair of loose-fitting dark pants, a white T-shirt, a light gray cardigan, and a pair of Birkenstock clogs, plus a dark gray scarf wrapped loosely around his neck. The outfit looks cool, comfy, and casual, but it's the hair (or lack thereof!) that grabs your attention.
Instead of his signature tousled hair, the "Treat You Better" singer is now rocking a short shaved-off style. Stars, they're just like us — they can't resist making a change when the new year begins.

This is a big change for Shawn, who's known for his run-your-fingers-through-it floppy rom-com lead waves. He's been sporting the style since ditching his pandemic length back in early 2021. During the initial stay-at-home guidelines, Shawn let his hair grow and kept it long because his then-girlfriend Camila Cabello was a fan of the shaggy style, which he often wore pulled up in a bun, a ponytail or a half-up style. However, the long lengths weren't meant to last forever, and the star moved on shortly thereafter and went back to his classic look.

Sure, we're bummed to see Shawn's gorgeous curls go, but the buzz cut is a cool look for him, and we're excited to see how he styles it… not to mention if this new look means we're also about to get a new Shawn album.
